Database Configurations

The operation of MultiDb is dependent on the particular database configuration which is set in the "Accounts setup "sect. on page 2 of the main "Output Display" section..

MultiDB User Site Configurations -

There are presently 3 configurations for MultiDb . These are listed on page2 under the main admin screen button labeled "Output Display" . Click this button and then go to the next page. One 1 configuration should be checked .

Config.1 - Search Only -No Registration
This is the choice#1 in the Database Account Set up section under Site Configurations. When checked the user is simply presented with a search box to do a search . No membership of any type is required . Only the admin can add entries. These entries are not time sensitive and will remain in the database with no time limit.

Config 2 - Registered Post-Free Search -
If choice 2 is checked ,it enables the site owner to have unpaid memberships to post to the database . The only requirement is that the user supply an username ,password, and email address. This is a time sensitive account. You should enter the number of days a member's service should last (default is 5 years). Also enter an email under "Admin Notification email" so that you can be alerted by email of a new member.

On the Admin Side-

The admin has the ability to change passwords and email addresses, to delete and deactivate a user's account. He also has the ability to email all members of the database . To do so click on "Email List" then type the message you would like to send in the bare middle space on the form. All other info will automatically be inserted in the email. Upon receipt of the email, the user can read it and if he decides not to receive any more emails can unsubscribe from the service automatically by clicking a link .

On the User side- .

The user supplies username , password, and email address . He gets a confirmation and is told that he will receive an email shortly supplying an activation number. Upon receipt of this number the user would enter it under the "Post/Edit message button". He would click on "Post Message" to post a message. He then has the ability to also edit his message. The user has the ability to change his profile , email address in this case by clicking on "Modify profile" and supplying username and password.

Config 3- Registered ,Paid Post- Free Search Config2- is like config2 but allows the site owner to take credit card info . The admin must check off option 3 to select this service , he must enter the number days service for the user, the site or admin email, the cost of the service, and the cards accepted. Press "Save" to save the settings. This like option 2 is a time dependent service with entries being deleted upon expiration..

Admin Side-

The admin gets notified by email of a new member joining. This email contains credit information among other things. Save this email as record of the transaction. It is up to the site owner or admin to verify the credit information . Upon verification, the admin will activate the account of the user by selecting the database the member is member of and then going to "Accounts " on the main admin screen click this button. This takes you to the search page. Press "Do Search" if you have few entries else type in the email address or username then press "Do Search". Upon locating the member , check off the enable box on the far right side. The user account is enabled but still awaits the confirmation of the member with his activation number to truly activate the account. When entered the account becomes active ,his service period starts. As with option 2, there is bulk email capability.

User Side-

The member must supply the activation number which was obtained by email after registration in the activation box under"Post/edit Message " for his account to be active. If the site owner has already verified the member's credit info then the user has immediate access to post/edit messages. Should the site owner not have enabled the account then the member gets the message "Your account is not active and will be so within 24 hours". When the site owner enables the account, an email will be automatically emailed to the member telling him the account is active. MultiDB gives you all the following abilities:
